Monstrance Reliquaire Sainte Lucie – XVIIIe

Une belle relique de Sainte Lucie, Vierge et Martyr, trône au centre de notre monstrance en bois doré et polychromé. Verre étiré d’origine. Son nom évoque la lumière, mais elle vécut dans l’ombre. Sainte Lucie de Syracuse Vierge et martyre en Sicile (+ v. 305) fut très populaire et son culte remonte aux premiers siècles.
Un travail Italien du XVIIIe en bel état.

A beautiful relic of Saint Lucy, Virgin and Martyr, sits in the center of our monstrance in gilded and polychromed wood.
Original drawn glass. Her name evokes light, but she lived in the shadows. Saint Lucy of Syracuse Virgin and martyr in Sicily (+ c. 305) was very popular and her cult dates back to the first centuries. An Italian work from the 18th century in beautiful condition.
